Later this week, there will be a benefit concert held in Jacksonville NC to help raise money to combat Multiple Sclerosis. It was all arranged by a Camp Lejeune wife of a Naval Lieutenant recently returned from deployment. The wife was, herself, diagnosed with MS six years ago. She claimed that the inspiration for the event came from her husband’s triumphant return to his old band CounterPoint. The initial idea was for them to raise enough money to participate in the MS walk in Wilmington on April 30, but the benefit concert began to take on a life of its own as promotions continued effectively. The benefit concert has now taken on the role of a benefit concert from which proceeds will go to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and a promotional event for local bands.
This concert is going to serve a twofold purpose: raising money for the search for a cure and helping local bands get their names and their music out to the public. Every small-time band can appreciate a chance to share their music with the masses, be they fans or the uninitiated, getting their music heard is their passion. A chance to do exactly that while at the same time helping those afflicted with MS is something many of the bands are looking forward to. Local talent expected to play at the show include Closing Tyme, Mickey Dixon, Adam Hill, John Baer, Stone Cold Fester, and of course CounterPoint. The concert is to be held at the House of Rock on April 27.
Jacksonville NC real estate owners and visitors should give this concert a visit. It is a chance to potentially expand your horizons and have a good time as well as help those less fortunate at the same time. This benefit show is a great example of how the people of Jacksonville come together as a community for a greater cause and make magic happen, especially considering how otherwise this would have just been another day near the end of April. The gung-ho attitude of the people and the ability to do great things for others are what make the Jacksonville NC homes so appealing to others. So take a look around and see how a close community makes a MS benefit into a party everyone can enjoy helping out at!

This past Saturday the Jacksonville Commons Recreation Complex played host to an event that brought adults and kids alike together to enjoy the fantastic spring weather at the Spring Family Fun Day. Starting at noon, families could come bring their children together and have a great time to help ring in the new season. People owning Jacksonville NC homes came from all over town to enjoy the live entertainment and kids couldn’t have been more excited.

Everyone knows children love animals. There is no better way to ensure a fun-filled day than by boosting them up to a seat of great stature, making them feel like kings and queens, upon the back of a pony. There is something special about riding an animal that more than doubles your normal height. The delight written plainly across their features is evidence enough of that.
Speaking of a child’s delight, this festival also has face painting and an Easter egg hunt! The antics and goofy dispositions of the day’s clowns had children pointing and laughing in excitement. Meanwhile you and your kids could get painted up to look like a seasonal Easter bunny, or, if you have the bunny ears already and feel like being silly, get painted like a Cadbury tiger. Unfortunately for parents, the egg hunt was only for the kids up to seven years old. All of the kids got to enjoy the wonders of the inflatable moon bounce, though.
People with family and friends that have Jacksonville NC real estate were coming to visit them and enjoy the festival of the weekend. While the kids played about with the animals and the exhilaration of being on the face of the moon, the adults had live entertainment and could bring food to cook out and enjoy the weather. Overall it was a day filled with fun and excitement for the whole family. So for any of you looking for homes for sale in Jacksonville NC, fear not! For Jacksonville knows how to celebrate the times and brought in the Spring season with a fun festival bash.

“Purchasing our first home in Virginia was a nightmare that had us living in a friend’s basement for three months while we waited to close on the house. We came out of that experience wary of realtors and hesitant to buy again. We were introduced to Michael Banks by a trusted friend and decided to give home buying another try. Mike was fantastic.
He took the time to understand what we were looking for, narrowed the search and the third home we looked at was the one we ended up purchasing. Mike and his team at Century 21 helped us with financing, found us a great inspector, and worked with us to make sure we closed on time. His professionalism, kindness and hard work made our second home buying experience wonderful and we would gladly work with him again. We recommend Mike and Century 21 to all of our friends, several of whom have also benefited from his expertise and personal attention.”

Are you looking for something fun to do in the Onslow County NC area before your visit? Well have no fear, for there are plenty of attractions for people of all ages. There is plenty going on for the family and kids too. Trying to think of a fun outing that will have everyone in the group chatting about the memories made for years to come? Try checking out the Whippoorwill Campground. Not even 20 miles from Jacksonville, this campground will give you and your family a chance to get back to the outdoors and rough it in tents, or sleep in the rustic comfort of a cabin. Don’t forget to bring the hot dogs and marshmallows, because nothing brings people together better than swapping stories, both goofy and spooky, while roasting treats around a fire that your brought to life. While you aren’t camping you can take a relaxing walk along some of the many miles of trails spread about the area too, and take in the scenery of nature and the environment around you.
Have you ever thought of giving horseback riding a try? It may sound like a silly thing for a day’s activity, but there are many good things about horseback riding that will make you want to spend more than a single day with them. First of all, it is fun. Very few things are as entertaining and exhilarating as riding astride a beast whose back comes above your head when you are both on the ground. Sitting that high up is almost doubling your natural height, and as your horse takes you wherever you direct it, you can’t help feeling like the king (or queen) of the world! Secondly, knowing how to ride a horse is useful skill to have. You never know when a horse may be your best (or only) form of transportation. One would say that knowing how to ride a horse is about as useful a skill to have floating around in your head as knowing how to ride a bike.
If you’re looking for a more simple and relaxing form of recreation, then look no further than the Paradise Point Golf Course. It is great for anyone who has a Camp Lejeune home or lives nearby. This is the course our nation’s heroes play, and it is no wonder! There are two historic golf courses, the Scarlet and the Gold, both open to the public for play on the New River. Each is a full 18-hole course with a well-stocked proshop, and lessons offered by PGA and MPGA pros to boot! So don’t worry about what to do next time you come visit Onslow County, because there is always something for everyone here.

Existing-home sales in the Jacksonville, NC area have been dropping compared to sales this time last year. Strangely enough prices have been at an optimum buying rate of late. Unfortunately economists believe that the market will be forced to continue enduring a slow recovery. This is due to several factors. Despite the economy’s gradual resurgence many creditors are still keeping a tight reign on their loans.
Relatively few people have the cash on hand to make a major purchase, such as a home, all at once. Granted, all-cash home sales actually have been on the rise, but it is typically not the average first-time home buyer that is doing so. It is more often than not investors, people who buy homes cheap and turn around and rent them out to families, who are making these all-cash buys. While that means that homes are being sold, it also means that they are being sold to people who will not live in them. Many of these investors are also repeat buyers, which means that they likely have several homes they own and rent out to others for a profit.
Another trick investors make use of is selecting “distressed” homes, which means houses sold at a significant discount, for purchase.
Quite frankly, first-time home buyers do not have the kind of cash required to make a purchase as big as a house. This means that they have to go to a creditor or get a mortgage loan. Unfortunately conditions to receive credit loans have been unrealistic for the majority of people to meet. Home shoppers should be sure that their personal credit is in line and check to make sure mortgages are even available in the area before preparing to make a purchase, and they should do it well in advance in order to maximize their chances of getting a loan in time to buy whichever home catches their eye before someone else snatches it up.
The biggest constraint on home buyers now is the short leash creditors are keeping on their loans, so plan ahead and have everything in order because other than that, the housing market’s prices are at excellently low levels for all buyers. Both first time purchasers and people just looking for a different home can find something to suit their needs wonderfully. So make sure to keep an eye out for that juicy piece of Jacksonville NC real estate that gets you and your family all jittery with excitement and come see Michael Banks for the perfect home for you and yours.
